Our innovative afterschool program offers children the opportunity to grow emotionally, physically, socially and mentally.  We have programs designed to meet the needs of the "total child".  Our concept focuses on placing children on the right course to fun and learning by exposing them to exciting programs to extend them beyond the classroom.

The only Summer Program that provides both the educational and fun activities for children in the Midlands.  We combine a variety of daily field trips, summer enrichment(reviews of SC curriculum standards), a reading incentive program and daily arts and crafts that will keep your child engaged all day long.  Field trips include but are not limited to - Carowinds, Challenger Learning Center, Frankies Fun Park, Bowling, Palmetto Falls Water Park, Gymnastics, Helping Hands Cooking Program, Music and Drama Program. We offer full and part programs to meet your needs. Fun and Educational After School Programs

We offer afterschool pickup from Richland/ Lexington 5 elementary schools.  Each day your child will focus on homework completion with assistance from our trained caring staff. The staff consists of education majors from the University of South Carolina and/ or Columbia College.  Onsite tutoring services are available daily if your child needs more one on one instruction. All children will be placed in a situation where they will be successful and feel successful as well.  A strong emphasis will be placed on character development and giving each child the tools necessary to become his or her best.  With a positive attitude instilled in each child, they will feel great learning about good nutrition, healthy eating habits and take part in weekly fitness at Lake Murray Gymnastics. Creative expression will be carried over to weekly art classes where children can create, design, paint pottery and learn various forms of fine art.  We pride ourselves on being a state of the art learning center and keeping children focused on success.  Another component of the "total child" commitment is to ensure a basis of computer literacy.  Your child will be taught how to build a computer from the beginning to its completion!  The program is offered year round including in-service and student holidays.  We expand to include an exciting and educational packed summer program where field trips are EVERYDAY!

Programs your child will enjoy weekly:

Monday-Nutrition Program

 Children will learn all about nutrition and healthy habits.  They will have hands learning by preparing their own healthy snacks by chopping, dicing and creating tasty and nutritious snacks. YUMMYLICIOUS!!

Tuesday-Life Skills

On Tuesdays we invite business leaders from the community to come in and speak to the children about their industry.  Topics include an overview of career choices, education requirements, daily schedule of the work day, opportunities for advancement and a "show and tell".  Some of our speakers this year will include the police department, fire department, doctor, computer technician, self employed business owner, pet store and many more.  Parents are always welcome and encouraged to visit and share about their career with the children.  

                                    Wednesday-Fine Arts Program

Art Smart Academy owned and operated by Katherine Fix, a graduate from Dickinson State University. Katherine holds a BUS degree concentrating in Fine Art and Art Education with a focus in Drawing and Pottery. Katherine has taught in the SC public school system and has won many awards for Drawing and Painting. Art Smart Academy is an integrated full service Fine Art and Pottery Painting program Specializing in above National Standards quality Art Instruction. Art Smar Academy’s mission is to enhance our community with opportunity for artistic techniques and styles while introducing new vocabulary and encouraging creativity in a fun environment.

Thursday-Computer Dynamics

Computer Dynamics taught by TEKK Solutions is a innovative program designed to teach students the inner workings of a computer through a non - traditional approach; building a computer. Students will build a computer onsite from beginning to completion. We developed the program to help students gain informative knowledge about how technology functions from the world of a PC. Computer Dynamics mission is to increase home to computer ratio Through the innovative affordable approach of building vs. purchasing. Our goal is to partner with local, regional, national organizations as well As School Districts through the means of offering an innovative Curriculum based program that awards students; mentoring, knowledge, structure, confidence, vocational skill and most of all the part of the technology in the 21st century. Students should walk away with a since of ownership, responsibility, vocational skill, self confidence and pride.

Friday-Fitness

Children will get to run, jump, flip and bounce at Lake Murray Gymnastics every Friday. Conveniently located across the street from our Academy. Come join the FUN!

TUTORING SERVICES

Tutoring is offered each day in various subjects.  Tutoring is available for one hour each afternoon from 3:30 until 5:30. Your child does not have to be enrolled weekly to utilize this service.  Transportation is available from your child's school to the Academy and parents may pick up their child from the Academy.
